Welcome from Christenes home tour at Keys to Inspiration. I'm thrilled to be joining my friend Angelina and a talented group of bloggers in sharing one week of fall decor and entertaining.

When it comes to fall decor, I do things a bit different.
Where most people are fond of decorating with dried leaves, I'm the girl who prefers dried flowers pretty much year round.

My style is a blend of French country, old world, and Gustavian. It's a little cottage and farmhouse rolled into one and is constantly evolving as I'm able to find certain pieces here in Alaska.

I like to keep things pretty natural when it comes to fall decor so fresh fruits in season and pinecones are poking about here and there too.

However, I do use quite a few faux pumpkins. For some reason, we don't get them here in Alaska until late September and when they do arrive the price tag is hefty. I'm so thankful faux pumpkins are looking more and more realistic.

On the mantle I used pears, dried peonies, roses, snapdragons and small pinecones I gathered from my neighbors yard.
As the fruit ripens the look will change. For now, I'm having a big time crush on the pears.

The look was carried over into the headboard china hutch that's usually full of a collection white dishes and Ironstone.

This corner was created to be used as a reading nook / office space. We'll see how that goes...

My friend made these darling blue velvet pumpkins for me and I just love how they look plopped in the oversize bowl with wispy pieces of dried vines.

The centerpiece on the dining table is a perfect every day look with bits and bobs of flowers petals dotting a linen like farmhouse style table runner.
I also baked a favorite quick bake box recipe for gluten free pumpkin spice pan cake which I will be sharing within the next few days.

The truth is that during all this excitement running around snapping photos I managed to possibly break my foot.
It was a bit rough hobbling around on crutches today trying to snap photos..... I learned that it's impossible to stand on one leg and shoot a clear shot. I'll keep you updated on how that goes.

Thank you so much for joining me today in touring my home. Many blessings of bounty to you and yours. The next stop on the seasonal tour is Leanna at Fairies and Fauna. .

Below is where I'm linking up this week:
Oh my gosh I forgot about the broken foot saga!
What kind of dessert is that?
Also, love the little corner reading nook with the blue and creamy pumpkins.
It’s a box mix but I don’t remember the name.
I spy lavender my French Country friend!!!!!

Olivia it is all beautiful! I spy a few familiar treasures and I love how you have used them! I also love that tattered book! So inspiring my talented friend!
Amber I used the candlesticks you sent me on the mantle. That’s the first time I’ve used them and I thought they looked great up there with the marbled browns in the base. That book is very old. I believe it’s over 100 years old. I found it in a ziplock bag in a crusty second hand store located in the middle of the country outside of Myrtle Beach, SC. It was my favorite spot to visit when I live there. They couple who owned it were so nice and had the most wonderful stories. I miss seeing them.
I just love your beautiful warm fall home tour. The dried flowers really give it such a cozy feel. I love the soft colors. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home!
Thank you so much, Michelle.
I will note each idea mentioned in this post. Dried leaves and flowers are great for decor projects. I like dried roses.
That’s wonderful, Stephanie. I’m working on a post dedicated to using dried flowers and the ways I store them throughout the year. It will be helpful for everyone who has ever asked how I dry my flowers and manage to keep them so long.
Olivia, I so enjoyed the tour! Everything looks just beautiful. Your photographs were just gorgeous! Happy Fall!
Your fall Decor is so soft and pretty! I love pink pumpkins! Simply Lovely and Charming!

Your home decor is always so feminine warm and stylish. I love how you design for the different seasons but your elegant style always shines through. Love this post
Aww thank you so much, Leanna. That is such a kind compliment.
Hi Olivia…I love all of the romantic dried flowers, and those blue velvet pumpkins are beautiful! Your whole house is so pretty. So sorry to hear about your foot. I hope it heals fast!
Hi Wanda, Thank you so much for commenting. Those blue pumpkins are a favorite this year. My friend Larissa made them for me. I’m not sure if you saw her home tour earlier this week. She used blush pink and the prettiest deep green velvet pumpkins in her fall decor this year. On occasion she posts here and wows everyone with that historic home of hers. Thank you so much for commenting. I hope my foot heals really quickly too. It’s surprising how tired it’s making me when I have so many ideas to work on and share right now. I need myself a magic wand. ha ha. 😉
Hello Olivia,
I am swooning over all the beautiful details in your home. I love your romantic and soft take on fall. The dried flowers are gorgeous and perfect for the season.
I can’t believe you broke your foot taking photos.. My goodness. I hope it heels quickly..
It was fun joining you on this Fall Home Tour.

Thank you, Janet. I do love fall colors but I just prefer them outdoors instead of in my home. Back in the day I tried embracing American country decor and used scarecrows and oodles of leafy bright colored garlands. I love how that style looks in others homes but every time I’ve decorated in that style it just feels a bit too much for me quieter style.
As for the foot…. shaking my head! I can hardly believe I did it either. I’m going to try to get an xray done sometime today and see exactly whats going on. I sent videos to my friend who works in healthcare and she said flat out that this is more than a sprained ankle. There was an awful lot of crunching, cracking and popping when it happened. So not fun! At least I did it before the heavy ice and snow arrives. I can’t imagine being on crutches in that weather, not that I can even drive, though. It’s my right foot. Ahhhhhh……
I love how the florals look mixed with the pumpkins! So pretty!
Thank you so much, Emy. They are my favorite. I’m so glad you stopped by.
Olivia, your home and fall decor are just stunning! I love how bright everything feels!
