What’s Headed Your Way…….
Sharing sneak peeks of at least four upcoming posts that will include faux projects, DIY tutorials, recipes, and a sweet baby.
Today I wanted to share a few of things that I’m working on and give you a glimpse of the posts that you can expect to see headed your way over the next couple of weeks.
The blogging agenda looks like this:
-sharing a recipe or two, complete with styled photos
– new furniture faux finish
– DIY tutorial involving papering a wall
-peeks at autumn decorating
-styling an event for my sister-in-law
Today I’m going to be cooking a large pot of shrimp, Alaskan King Crab, Andouille sausage, red potatoes and fresh corn for a few friends that are visiting Alaska from Arizona. It’s called a Low Country Boil. Let me tell you it is delicious and easy to fix. It’s safe for Celiacs and NCGI sufferers too. For those of you who can eat whatever the heck you want, this one is for you too. You definitely won’t want to miss out on this recipe! It is delicious!
Dessert will be a lemon meringue pie made from scratch. We will just have to see how this turns out. Gluten and dairy free cooking does present challenges. As long as the texture is right, we are golden! I will share all the details on that; even if it turns out horribly, I will let you know. Just trying to keep it real over here.

You can expect to see a bit of red coming on the scene with a new painted faux finish. I’m just now putting the final coats on this large project and gathering items to set up a photo shoot. If you missed it because ya’ll were busy with July 4th family BBQ’s, fireworks, and camping trips, please take a quick peek at my post-Patriotic Tablescape. August weather can be quite fickle up here in Alaska, hoodies one day, and sundresses the next. As long as the weather cooperates with me the full reveal with these red chairs will be shared next week.
Since we are moving into autumn, my home is transitioning by adding a few touches of fall decor here and there. You can expect to see some glimpses of seasonal decor. I should let you know this too, often I share snippets on Facebook and Instagram, long before the whole package arrives here.
As for the DIY tutorial that I promised in this post about the French Country Farmhouse Table, it’s well under way. You can look forward to the backstory on why I, a faux finisher, would ever dream of putting wallpaper a wall. Holy cow, I feel like such a traitor to my industry. Oh well, bleep happens.
Last but not least, I have some event styling work to do that involves a sweet momma and the welcoming of a new baby into this world. Later on, towards the end of the month, I will be flying down to California to decorate and style a baby shower event.
Event styling might just be my favorite job to do. These types of things are a welcome break from being covered in faux finishing products. Plus it’s nice to slip into a pair of high heels and get dolled up for a change. I am looking forward to working on this and bringing all the details to you too.
The baby that is coming happens to be my very first niece. I am so excited about having a little girl to dote on for a change. I love my sweet little nephews too. I’m just going to say it again; I am SUPER EXCITED to have a little niece on her way into our family. As the only girl with three younger brothers, this is just so exciting for me. I always wanted a sister, but that never happened. Having a niece will be such a treat for me.
My sister-in-law and I have been pinning plenty of inspirational images on my Pin Board Baby Shower For Girls

I need ideas for games. Do ya’ll have any favorite games for baby showers? Do tell. Share your ideas and stories with me in the comments. I would love to hear your thoughts. 🙂
That’s all I have for now. Tons of work, projects, and blog posts are in the works. But right now, I have to run so I can get everything together for our big Low Country Boil dinner.
